Since 2008, the Zéro De Conduite association has been creating artistic projects in neighbourhoods in Rennes and rural areas throughout Brittany. Directors Laëtitia Foligné, Candice Hazouard and Lucie Rivoalen have been in residency in Maurepas since 2020, telling stories about daily life in this neighbourhood, each with their own sensitive and poetic approach, carrying the voice of the local residents. Their goal is to chronicle changes to the urban landscape and the impact on the people who live there. They use photography, film, video and sound recordings in three individual artistic creations that reflect their intersecting points of view on an ever-changing neighbourhood.
Discover the works of the three artists in different locations, from 2 June to 7 July, including Resto Bistro Pépites, the PAM (Pôle Associatif de la Marbaudais), Le Timbre, the Allee de Brno building, the Square de l’Europe construction site and the Les Gayeulles metro car park.
Laëtitia Foligné’s video installation, Ouvre-moi ta porte, presents the personal stories of Maurepas residents who live in one of the neighbourhood’s most well-known tower blocks.
In the exhibition Archives du présent, Candice Hazouard immerses us in the history and present of Maurepas, while her documentary film of the same name features stories about the arrival of modern comforts and documents the neighbourhood’s demolitions, renovations and new constructions.
La ville en nous, a documentary film by Lucie Rivoalen, shot in 16 mm film, is a poetic exploration of the relationship with home in a changing neighbourhood. The director will be screening the film in two unique spaces that resonate with the subject of the documentary.
