Experience opera like you’ve never seen it before, have fun, and discover the pleasure of sound and music with the Big Bang festival. The Hop Frog brass band, musical parades of children from the Conservatoire de Rennes orchestra classes, and the barrel organs of Duo Mathis will be getting things warmed up at Place de la Mairie. At the Opera House, see Hush, La Machine à rêves d’Henry and discover the amazing world of Henry Purcell, the choreographed performance, La Poétique de l’instable, and Des Madeleines dans la galaxie, an immersive journey to the heart of a galaxy of mysterious sounds, together with musical opera dressing rooms, colouring, musical naps and a juice bar.
The City Hall will also be getting involved with the robot orchestra and strange interactive sound installations of the Logos Fondation, as well as Les Classiques du Grami, presented by Les Tombées de la Nuit in Rennes in 2021, as part of the July festival.
A solid wood table, two chairs, a stereo sound system and a power supply make up the minimalist installation for the all-terrain mobile synthesizer version of the Classiques du GRAMI.
Part street concert and part chamber music, Yann Servoz and Mathieu Ogier, both instrumentalists and orchestra conductors, present a sound journey across several centuries, showcasing the greatest classical melodies of all time. This fresh and modern interpretation of history’s most beautiful pieces offers a new way to enjoy these universal composers and to emphasize the timeless quality of their masterpieces. As electronic music invades our sound space, the aesthetic fusion created in Les Classiques du GRAMI, puts the synthesiser and classical music in the spotlight.
