Cots

Cots is a solo project by Montreal composer, singer and guitarist Steph Yates, blending bossa nova, folk and jazz in poetic, subtly unconventional compositions.

Her debut album, the velvety and luxurious Disturbing Body, demonstrates an understated and detailed talent for songwriting and composition. The trumpet, bass and saxophone sway in tune with a delicate guitar and enchanting vocals.

With her pure, crystalline voice, Yates sings of our orbiting relationships, fading passions and the nostalgia of desire. What a show!

Ed Dowie

In his two critically-acclaimed albums (The Uncle Sold, released in 2017, and The Obvious I, released in 2021), Ed Dowie uses false simplicity to disguise a subtly sophisticated and surprisingly rich minimalist pop, reaching emotional heights with a minimum of means.

Performing solo, he blends his pure voice with his melodic keyboard and computer-generated loops. He is currently completing his third album, Minibar Dreams, which will be released in spring 2025.
