De Tout Choeur was launched in April 2017 to bring together Rennes choirs with their varied repertoires and styles, including gospel, classical and lyrical. This Sunday, follow these choirs through Le Blosne, Bourg l’Evêque and the city centre, with a final concert at the Opera House to bring the adventure to a close. This day is perfect for youth and adult choirs of any level or repertoire, around the shared theme of “Popular!” De Tout Choeur will bring together professionals, professionals in training and amateurs, singing in established or more spontaneous choirs. For 10 June, the Opera House has also created a pop-up choir open to anyone, regardless of their singing level. Participants just need to be motivated, enthusiastic and committed. Around sixty amateur singers of all ages have met every two weeks since January to rehearse famous opera pieces.
Two associations will partner with the Rennes Opera House for the De Tout Choeur event. For the 6th edition of Fleurs du Mail, an amateur festival in Bourg l’Evêque, five choirs will perform, followed by two stories, in the St-Cyr gardens, cloister and chapel.
For the fourth Chants du Blosne event, the Ars Nomadis association will invite the SAFI collective and Marseille cooperative Hôtel du Nord to compose a sound and taste trail through the green spaces of Le Blosne. After the banquet organised on the Le Triangle esplanade, four choirs will disappear into the landscape, exploring the acoustics of outdoor places and spaces through a musical walk.
Choirs taking part in the event will perform in venues in these neighbourhoods and in the public space in order to meet with residents. The public will be able to choose from a selection of itineraries to listen to choirs as they wander around freely.
