¡ Sin miedo, estamos una fuerza colectiva !,
“Without fear, we are a collective force!”
Inspired by Canción sin miedo, the famous song by Mexican singer Vivir Quintana condemning femicide, these words have guided the ¡ COLECTIVA ! project since its inception.
¡ COLECTIVA !, is a heartfelt choir performance created around a repertoire of Latin American songs, in a combative and joyful journey defending women’s rights and emancipation.
Last winter, unable to come together in person, the participants of this collective adventure rehearsed over the internet, during online Sunday gatherings.
This summer, thanks to these rehearsals, discussions and learning, Labo Colectiva, which usually includes 14 singers and percussionists, will open up its choir to a lot more people. They will be joining them to sing in public space, standing up for the choir’s message in support of women’s rights and our rediscovered freedom. On 4 July, in the streets of Rennes, these women will finally come together in person to share collective emotions and invent a brighter tomorrow full of song.
