Since her childhood, artist Marilyne Grimmer has dreamed of being able to teleport herself in time or space, at the snap of her fingers. She used this to come up with the idea of a lightning flash trip… just for a photo, and created Postcards from elsewhere, a fun and participatory project that breaks down the boundaries of imagination on a street corner, or in a kitchen or living room.
Bons baisers de Rennes is the Rennes contingent of this teleportation operation. It began with a residency in October, during which the artist invited around fifteen people, with the support of the Les Petits Frères des Pauvres and residents of the Surcouf retirement home, to travel to the destination of their dreams, just for a photo. For one week, she travelled from living room to living room, taking photos of them and listening to their stories and travel memories. In December, Marilyne Grimmer will share the results with each participant, through a postcard of their incredible adventure, before presenting these images and testimonies to the public through an exhibition at bus stops in the city
