Every two years since 2004, La Ballade avec Brassens has brought together Georges Brassens fans together in Rennes to celebrate the artist. This year, this family-friendly event open to all is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
On Sunday, a giant choir will kick off the festivities, before volunteer musicians and professional bands take to the five aptly-named stages (Margaux, Jeanne, Pénélope, Marinette and Hélène) along Promenade Georges Brassens.
The programme features an original line-up of young songwriters and singers (including Matéo Langlois from Toulouse, duo Hélène Le Gros and wordsmith Monsieur Ston), led by avant-garde musician Ulysse Mars, and a concert by the band Myosotis Trio hailing from Auch. Some sixty bands, choirs, duos and singers will perform 30-minute sets in this wooded country setting.
Food and drink stands, entertainment for all ages, a photo booth and a photo exhibition dedicated to Georges Brassens will round off this wonderful day.
